In Here

Observation Poetry

Girls come in here

With nails

Long enough to claw their way

Out of the madness of tantrums

They come in with sweeping lashes

Thick enough to separate

Stardust particles from heaven

Girls come in here

With only the top

Of their tops

The midsection shrunk to the base

Spiderwebs of last night’s dreams

They come in with holes in their pants

So that the angelic demon inside them

Can meander its way out

Girls come in here

With that Instagram attitude

And selfie wrists

And push-em-away fists

Wearing crown jewels of Image

With a Tik Tok skit dying on their lips

Such was 2023
