I have just dusted off another spring break and logged it into history. I have decided that it comes too early, after all, the weather was super cold. Although, technically in the geographical location that I live in, that could literally depend upon a roll of the dice. But basically, I can say that it didn’t feel too springy.

Where were the budding flowers? The blossoming trees? To date, those have escaped me. What we got was north winds, cool grey days, and one imbalanced day where the temperature headed up to 79 degrees, then plummeted with an almost instantaneous cold front bringing rain and wind. Did I mention wind?

Ah, the best-made plans, what happens to those? The little grains of time rushing through the shapes of our fingers. I had planned so many things. Cleaning, painting, touching up, organizing. Pinning down my summer gigs. Sadly not much of that happened, but I did manage to knock off a few things. I had thoughts that it would have been a good week to travel. An exotic location would be nice.

I flashed back to last spring about this time when I offered a stray cat solace and food. She returned the favor by going into my closet and having four kittens. I remember reaching in, and…
